Hurricane Shutter Removal
Posted on Sep 4th, 2019

We are all very thankful that Hurricane Dorian remained off the east coast of Florida and had minimal impact of Southwest Florida. According to our regulations Hurricane shutters shall be removed no later than five days after the cessation of a hurricane watch or warning.  Since Madison Park was never in a watch or warning, this shall serve as notice that hurricane shutters shall be removed within five days. The only exception is permanently installed, electric or manual shutters approved by the ARC that are installed to enclose the roof covered portion of the lanai may be kept closed. All other windows and doors shall have the shutters removed or opened as appropriate.
The BOD authorized the installation of shutters last Friday because the course of Dorian was unknown and the approaching three day weekend.  Normal procedures require a Warning or Watch be issued by the National Hurricane Center before shutters can be installed.
